"Denial" is an adaptation of Deborah E. Lipstadt's 2005 book "History on Trial: My Day in Court With a Holocaust Denier." Weisz will portray Lipstadt, who was accused of libel when she described author and so-called "historian" David Irving as a holocaust denier. Deadline writes, "In the English legal system, the burden of proof is on the accused; therefore it was up to Lipstadt and her legal team to prove the essential truth that the Holocaust happened." "Denial" is currently in pre-production.
Parker is tackling less heavy fare in "All Roads Lead To Rome" -- then again, pretty much any subject matter seems lighthearted compared to denying a genocide with millions of casualties. The "Sex and the City" star will play a single mom from New York City who journeys to Tuscany in an attempt to make amends with her daughter, a rebellious teen, and evidently a resourceful one (most teens hide out at a friend's house after a tiff with mom, not a scenic Tuscan village).
While she's in Italy, Parker's character cross paths with a former flame who is now living with his elderly mother. Paz Vega ("Paulo Coelho's Best Story") costars. Momentum is planning a February 2016 release for the romantic comedy.
